Kendall called me this morning. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is to have a real person who is technically part of the state bureaucracy but actually calls me personally, gave me her direct work number, and returns my calls? And she's nice, too. Anyway, she talked to our slowpoke state office this morning, and they promised to call her back today. When they call her, she'll call me. I'm halfway expecting them to tell her that they've never received my paperwork, but let's hope that's not true. I hope we'll have some good news.
I should also mention that I asked Sangeeta whether our profile has been shown to any birthmoms. You might remember that it's been available to be shown to local birthmoms who are early in their pregnancies. Well...apparently there have not been any birthmoms in that category so far. Nobody has seen our profile yet. It's about five months old. So, that's discouraging. I'm trying to remember that it all fits in with the plan that God has for our family, and apparently that plan doesn't involve anyone who would have been considering our profile so far. Needless to say, I'm anxious for these last restrictions to be lifted on our profile so that it can be seen more easily. Thanks for everyone's prayers and encouragement on this journey!
(I should mention, too, that it's really nice to be able to see the computer screen without leaning in a bit and squinting. I got glasses. I had no idea that I needed them or that I was leaning in and squinting...until I actually got glasses and stopped doing it.)
