I think I forgot to blog about this before, so I'm going to have to backtrack a little.
You might remember our most recent delay over a month ago when we learned, among other things, that we'd need child abuse clearances from our previous two home states. Soon after we submitted those requests through our current home state (because they have to go through our state first, then to our previous states) I got a call from Kendall at our state office. She called me, personally, to let me know that the check I sent to her to pay for these clearances was not necessary since Bethany is an accredited agency. (Yay, $20 less to spend!) She was super nice and invited me to check in with her in 30 days to find out the status of our clearances. Sangeeta was really impressed that someone from the state called us and actually gave us a direct phone number to speak with her. So, we were encouraged.
Anyway, it's been 30 days since my conversation with Kendall, and we are still waiting on the state that actually had its own form for this procedure. The form stated that we should allow 7-10 working days. So, I called and left a voicemail for Kendall. I hope she returns my call, and when she does, I'll post the latest news. Hopefully it won't be, "They never received your form so you'll need to resubmit your paperwork." But I have to be honest-I'm preparing myself for that. But praying that won't be what I find out.

I hope all of this "paper pushing" ends soon! Hope you get some good news!
