Waiting Family Newsletter

We received our first "waiting family newsletter" today in the mail, which is nice since we're not technically a "waiting family" yet.  Some of you have asked about the number of people our Bethany office is helping, so I thought I'd share parts of the quarterly newsletter:

  • 9 babies have joined their "forever families" in the domestic program alone since the last newsletter
  • There are 23 "waiting families"
  • 5 families have been matched with potential birth mothers
  • 12 potential birth mothers are in counseling
  • 4 women are living in Bethany's House
Bethany's House is one of my favorite things that Bethany provides for birth moms.  They are really serious about helping these women when they need it most, providing them housing, food, transportation, counseling, and more.  It looks like there's only one Bethany's house in the country.  I'm surprised by that but I'm sure there are other ministries out there that do the same thing.

I  hope that it won't be too long before the newsletter features the names of couples in our day-long seminar who have successfully adopted babies...and hopefully our names will be there, too!
